PIERRE, S.D. – Due to the combination of freezing rain, accumulating snow, and strong winds I-90 will be closed in several locations. Snow and ice-covered roads along with blizzard-like conditions will increase the deterioration of road conditions throughout Friday making travel extremely difficult if not impossible. No travel advisories are also expected on secondary highways throughout South Dakota. The South Dakota Department of Transportation advises that motorists should NOT use secondary highways in an attempt to avoid Interstate closures.
